FUR CARE INSTRUCTIONS

GENERAL CARE

•    Avoid crushing or folding fur garments. Always hang on wide, padded hangers to preserve structure and shape.

    •    Keep fur away from direct heat sources such as radiators or fireplaces, and avoid prolonged sun exposure to prevent drying and fading.

    •    Do not sit for extended periods while wearing heavy fur pieces. Remove the garment to prevent flattening and stress on seams.

    •    Avoid direct contact with perfumes, hairsprays, and body oils. Apply all scented products first and allow them to fully dry before wearing fur.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE (THE COLLECTIVE PROVIDES CLEANING SERVICES )

 •    Never machine wash, dry clean, or bleach fur. These processes can permanently damage pelts, dyes, and leather skins.

    •    For light surface dust, gently shake the garment outdoors and use a soft-bristle brush or fingertips to lift debris, brushing in the direction of the hair.

    •    For stains or noticeable soiling, consult a professional furrier or fur-cleaning specialist. Always request fur-specific cleaning, as standard dry cleaners may cause damage.

    •    Professional cleaning is recommended every 12–24 months, depending on wear and environmental conditions.

STORAGE

•    Store fur in a cool, well-ventilated space away from heat and humidity.

    •    Use a breathable garment bag made of cotton or linen. Avoid plastic, which traps moisture and can dry out the leather.

    •    In warm or humid climates, professional cold storage during off-seasons is strongly recommended to maintain natural oils and shape.

    •    Allow fur to air out after each wear before returning it to storage to release any moisture from body heat.

Humidity & Temperature

    •    Ideal storage conditions include cool temperatures with moderate humidity (approximately 45–55%) to keep pelts supple.

    •    Avoid overly dry environments, which may cause cracking, and excessive humidity, which can lead to mold or mildew.
